Congratulations to Taylor Canada, David Dickison, Kristian Enbysk, Zac Hamilton, and Lane Williams on advancing to the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest!
The students competed at the UIL Region 25 Solo & Ensemble Contest this past Saturday at Celina High School.
To advance to the state contest, students must choose a solo or ensemble piece from the Texas Prescribed Music List that is classified as Class 1, which is the most difficult level of music found on the list.
Furthermore, the students must earn a 1st Division rating on their performance (the highest possible). Soloists must also perform their music from memory. These students will compete again on May 28th in Austin, TX.
Other students performing in the contest Saturday were Janna Payne (1st Division, not memorized) and our woodwind trio made up of Taylor Canada, Macy Graves, and Jordan Wodarz (2nd Division).
Congratulations to all of these students on outstanding performances!
